What is the importance of Memorial Day Holiday: Facts and Stats | World History

Memorial Day is a holiday that takes place on the last Monday in May. Most people focus on the fun activities they have planned, the extra day off, or the many other distractions that come with a holiday. Almost everyone forgets about the true meaning behind this day. Memorial Day is meant to honor the men and women who have died while fighting in the military.

What is the difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day?

Although these two holidays are very similar, they are celebrated separately for a reason. Veterans Day is celebrated on November 11 and is a holiday to thank all that have served in wartime including people who have survived and those who have died. However, Memorial Day is a holiday that focuses on honoring those who have lost their lives fighting for our country.
