Looking Ahead - Liam Gallagher

Looking ahead to this summer there is a lot to be excited for. Besides the normal excitement of being off from school and getting to spend more time with friends, doing sports, or whatever someone may like to do, there is added boost as we look to finally break away from COVID and return to normal. With the indoor mask mandate being lifted in New Jersey it feels as if we're one step closer to the pre-COVID way of life. It's a sign of progress that many people had been waiting for as the time and patience that we all have had to invest to get to this moment have finally paid off. We will now get to enjoy a near-normal summer after over a year of having to follow these mandates and can only hope for positive results.

There is also a lot of anticipation for what is to come as far as a decision on mask requirements for school next year. Politics will look to play a huge part in this as masks and COVID precautions are some of the most heavily debated topics today. There is a clear split between the two sides on these topics and it will be interesting to see if a middle ground will be found in time for next year. A decision should be expected soon, though, as with some vaccines requiring two shots instead of one there would need to be adequate time to actually receive both shots before school opens. This decision should also come with a decision on whether or not they can actually force students to receive the vaccination as some believe they can force it and some believe you can't. All in all, disregarding what side of the debate you may fall on, it is hard not to be excited looking ahead as we look to finally beat COVID.
