A New Hobby-Jake Hand

This year I had decided to start snowboarding. Many of my friend's snowboard and they finally convinced me to start this year. I was able to get a snowboard and a season pass for my birthday and Christmas in 2020 so I could start. Mountain Creek is the local snowboard/skiing mountain and that's where all my friends go. The mountain had two peaks, the north, and the south peak. The north peak is more for beginners, there are no jumps and terrain and you can practice your turning and skills without worrying about the terrain. My first few times I went to the north so I could get a hang of it, luckily I have experience skateboarding so there was not a huge learning curve. I was able to figure how how to turn and stop fairly quickly and after a few times at north, I was ready for the south peak.

South had lots of jumps along with rails for snowboards and skiers. My first time at the south peak I rode along the sides just to mark out the jumps and see what I wanted to try. My first time at south I didn't do too many stunts or jumps mostly because I was still learning. Luckily my friend had a small terrain park set up in his backyard. He had a jump and a few rails where I was able to practice. After a few more times at the south peak, I have become more comfortable hitting jumped and rails. I still fall now and again but I would recommend snowboarding to anyone who needs a winter hobby.

    1. Not even close! Snowboarding is so much better than skiing.

    2. Yeah, if you like falling every two seconds and wasting space on an otherwise nice mountain. The amount of times a snowboard falls right in front of me while I'm skiing is unbelievable, but since I actually have control over what I'm doing I can get out of the way!

    3. Lol the only time snowboarders fall is when they are beginners on the bunny hill. Other than that they almost always have complete control over where they are going.
