Timeline: President Trump Tests Positive for Coronavirus

On Friday, October 2nd, President Donald Trump and First lady Melania trump tested positive for COVID-19. President Trump took to twitter to announce his diagnosis. In his statement, President Trump said he was doing "very well" and was to spend "the next few days" at the Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C. According to the President's physician, he received a dose of an experimental Coronavirus treatment called Regeneron. Trump later commended the work of the doctors and staff at Walter Reed.

On Saturday, October 3rd, Trump's physician Sean Conley described the president as "fever-free" and experiencing very mild symptoms. The President described his experimental treatments as "miracles coming down from God."

The next day, Trump briefly left the hospital in a SUV parade ride to visit supporters cheering outside that raised a lot of questions on the safety of the president's actions. Conley began dodging and failing to answer basic questions about the president's conditions and symptoms, later admitting that there were alarming drops in the president's oxygen levels, and that he wanted to "reflect the upbeat attitude" of the White House and Walter Reed team.

On Monday, Trump returned to the White House after three nights at the Walter Reed Medical Center. Conley confirmed that the president needed supplemental oxygen on two occasions. The president stated on Twitter, "Don't be afraid of Covid. Don't let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!'

Trump highlighted his numerous attempts to downplay the risks and severity of the virus as he attempted to convert his diagnosis and treatment, which likely came from his "super-spreader" rallies with minimal to no Coronavirus precautions, into a show of strength to combat unremarkable polling numbers just weeks away from Election Day.
