Siren Saved - Julia Juan

Siren Saved

No one ever asks why all of the sirens sing their song

sailors ships follow the stars without wondering what's wrong

my piercing notes are heard far above the dangerous waves

in which the drowning men do not escape their judgment day

I'm alone with just my thoughts for my freedom I'll await

but when if they see the rocks they quickly turn the other way

I hope that if I bring them here I'll have some company

my harmless efforts always somehow turn to tragedy

I've been here for eternity please someone help me out

The roaring waves block out all sound so you can't hear me shout

so I sing from pain hoping someone will help me escape

if I am trapped and sailors leave then maybe they should pay

So many years of passing ships but still to no avail

am I that insignificant or do you just not care

I matter too, start listening when I reach out and plea

or soon you will regret that you had ever ignored me

Now are you happy you've enraged me left me all alone

while you go right back to your king who sits upon his throne

If that is how it's going to be then you've chosen your fate

I will sing over the waves to ensure you won't escape

I have been singing the same song for years, its been too long

look here comes another ship but someone else came along

is that the king Odysseus I see tied to the post

he looks so ridiculous as he edges towards my coast

I sing my song to drown the king but the ropes held him back

the sailors can not hear my song with their ears blocked with wax

victorious they sail to Ithica as I fade away

finally my freedom's come I no longer have to stay

  1. This is so pretty omg, I absolutely love the way you wrote this. Putting a different perspective on the sirens songs and the tale of Odysseus really changes the experience!
