The One Place Everyone Should Visit Before They Die By: Marcella Hill

If I was going to die in a month and I only had one more place to travel to, I would travel to Hawaii. More specifically I would travel back to the Maui Islands and I suggest that you should too. The Maui islands are truly breathtaking. From the beautiful clear blue skies, to the lush green volcano landscapes and bright blue clear oceans the Maui Islands have it all. One of the most popular attractions to visit in Maui is Haleakala National park.  Haleakala National Park is a massive shield volcano that covers over 75% of the island in Maui. Tourists can drive their cars to the top of the volcano to watch the sunrise from above the clouds. When my family went to this attraction we drove up the volcano at 2 in the morning and bundled up in many layers because of how cold it was at the top. Don't get me wrong, Maui is very hot and sunny but when you are sitting at the top of a volcano at 2 in the morning it is freezing. We watched many shooting stars shoot across the sky and later on watched the sunrise from above the clouds. It was a once in a lifetime experience that I would recommend to anyone!

Another popular place to visit in Maui is the Road to Hana. The Road to Hana is a 64.4 mile long highway with many different stops along the highway that includes, hikes to beautiful waterfalls and cliffs to jump off of, local markets and many beautiful views. This is not like any highway, the Road to Hana is full of one way roads, with one car bridges on roads that can't fit more than one car, and this all takes place on the edge of a cliff. One wrong move and you will drive off the cliff! We even drove our jeep up to a landslide above the ocean and climbed all the way to the edge of the cliff, now that was a memorable experience.

Not only can you go hiking in Maui but you can also go snorkeling in the reefs and swim with turtles. My family took a boat out to Molokini which was a crater in the ocean and we snorkeled all around the crater and swam with many turtles in a place called "Turtle Town". The reefs were so colorful, it was unlike anything I've seen before. We traveled to many beaches throughout our trip in Maui but the best beach by far was "Big Beach". This beach was unlike any other beach I had ever been to, the waves were ginormous, and I am not over-exaggerating the waves were well over 40 feet tall. The lifeguards kept announcing that it was unsafe to be swimming because many people had gotten paralyzed from being in the waters with these big waves. However, my family risked our chances of dying and stayed in the water.

Lastly one of the most iconic experience in Maui was going to a Luau, you simply cannot leave Maui without going to a Luau. At the Luau there was fire dancing, hawaiian food, dancers and music, it was a very enjoyable experience. As you can see Maui Hawaii is the one place you should definitely visit before you die. I promise, you won't regret it.
