Most people look forward to their summer vacations. People go to tropical places and spend time on the beach with friends and family. If you ask someone, "If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation where would you go?" Most people will say someplace tropical such as Florida, Hawaii, or Bali. Even in my own family my sister always wants to go to tropical places on vacation.
However, if you ask me, "If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation where would you go?" I would say that I would like to go to Whistler Canada or Cortina d'Ampezzo in Italy. People think that I'm crazy to wanna go somewhere cold and spend money to freeze myself in the cold. However, going somewhere cold with lots of snow and beautiful mountains is way better than a sandy beach with water. (Especially because the sand gets everywhere). There is nothing like standing at the top of a mountain and seeing snow-covered mountains for as far as the eye can see watching the sunset in the distance.
A big reason I prefer winter vacations over summer vacations is also because of the timing. Winter vacations normally happen during winter break whereas summer vacations occur during the summer break. Personally, I prefer winter break vacations more because I just had a couple of tests right before the break and now I get a breather. Even though I would like to go skiing somewhere in Argentina during the summer break, since I am already in a resting mood, I don't mind comprising and going where my sister wants. However, if I got the last say, I would prefer we went somewhere with snow.
I think there's certainly beauty in both! We rarely go anywhere in the winter because of school, so we're always traveling in the summer.
