My Unpopular Opinion on a Special Comedian

        I see myself as a pretty straightforward person. I don’t lean to one side of things or the other which leaves me in the middle of opinions. Even reading through what some of my classmates had already written I neither agreed or disagreed with them. With this I struggled a lot to find an unpopular one but after a lot of thinking I think I found something.  

        Some of you reading this may be familiar with comedy and others may not. Back about 2 years ago and even further before that, I had a big interest in listening to stand up comedy. I found it crazy how one person can stand up on a stage and make you laugh out loud with only their words. Through the phase I had formed some opinions on their jokes, buildups and writing. This leads me to my unpopular opinion. 

        Jerry Seinfeld. Everyone I talked to him about made it seem as if he was the greatest comedian of all time. I watched a few of his specials and just couldn't agree with them. I have no problem with him or his comedy however I think it isn't as funny to me. Many find him at the top of the comedian food chain but after watching his most recent comedy special I didn't see how he could be portrayed this way. 

        Sure he’s classic and funny but he just didn’t meet the expectation people had told me about. With some comedians I'd laugh out loud at a joke or a movement they make but his special never had the same effect on me. I felt the audience was laughing too much for many of his jokes. Don't get me wrong I think he's a good comedian and a great and clever writer. I just think he's overrated which I’ve found is my unpopular opinion.
