You know that energizing feeling you get when you drink a cold bottle of water after your vigorous practice or workout. Or that cooling feeling you get when you bite into a popsicle on a hot day in July. Well, unlike most people, I wouldn’t say ice cream or a drink is the most refreshing food on the planet; Instead I think and praise that a good bowl of cereal is one of the best things to exist.
For those disagreeing, I know what you're thinking, “ew the milk”, “the flavors are so plain,” or “it gets soggy.” First off, you never taste the milk anyway because the cereal’s flavor and crumbs disintegrate into the milk. And if you don’t like regular milk you can replace it with almond milk, oat milk (my personal favorite), coconut milk, soy milk, or maybe even chocolate milk. Whatever floats your boat!
Furthermore, yes, there are plain options like the stereotypical raisin bran or cheerios. But there’s other really good flavors.You can choose from Apple Jacks, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Froot Loops, Lucky Charms, Cocoa Puffs, Frosted Flakes, or many others. There’s probably a flavor for every craving. And I know that a lot of cereals are full of sugar, like the ones I mentioned, but a plus to this food is its customizability, once again. For instance you can add fresh fruit or change up the milk. Also, there’s healthier options that are just as good made from Kashi GO, Fiber One, Special K, and Quaker.
A con to cereal is that it does get soggy. Although I don’t mind soggy cereal, many would definitely disagree, which is why I want to recommend the simple yet useful invention: the anti-soggy cereal bowl. Yep, it’s a real thing. It might sound like a stupid product, but soggy cereal can be a make-or-break deal for some people.The anti-soggy cereal bowl is two sided, where one side you keep your cereal and on the other you have your milk.
I agree that there are some days when all I want is a bowl of cereal!
