March Madness- Charlie Sandgran

 

As February comes to an end, the basketball fan base eagerly awaits for mid March. That is when March Madness starts. March Madness is a huge tournament that takes over two and a half weeks of just college basketball games. It's nonstop action and that is why so many sports fans love it. It starts with 64 teams and goes all the way to the national champion.

I personally am not a fan of watching the NBA because I feel like they get away with a lot of penalties and they never play defense. But college is completely different. You can see the level of intensity and emotion that the players play with throughout the entire tournament. They are willing to give up everything to compete in the tournament.

I like March Madness because my family always make a bracket and we usually bet that the loser has to do an annoying chore. I also enjoy it because anything can happen. In 2018 Loyola made it to the the final four as an 11 seed which is insane. The fact that they could pull off 4 upsets in a row is just crazy. I'm also excited because this is the first time in a while that my favorite college team Ohio State is going to be really good this year. They looked like they would have been good last year for the tournament but unfortunately it got cancelled due to Covid 19. Other than that the only time I remember them being competitive was the 2012 season in which they made the final four.

Overall March Madness is going to be extremely fun to watch this year along with every other year. However this year it is needed even more because of all the craziness that surrounds with Covid 19. I personally can't wait for March to come quick enough.
