The Squad- Lilli Wiegand

 

    Over the past 10 months that we have been living in this completely different world, I have realized how much I have taken the great friendships I have for granted. During the first few months of quarantine, everything was taken away from me. I wasn't able to play soccer, see family, hang out with my friends. The closest communication I had with my friends was over the phone, which seemed like nothing compared to how much time we would spend together. Not being able to do all of these things allowed me to really realize how much my friends mean to me, and what a big impact they have on my life. 

    Good friendships are one of the most important things in life to have, and this pandemic has really made me realize how lucky I am to have the friends I do and realize how important they are to me. Whether I've known them since pre-school, or just became friends in the last year, it feels like we've all been friends since the day we were born. I know that this squad will always make me laugh, give me their honest advice no matter how much I might not like, stick by my side no matter what, and always have the best time when we're together.  We will always have each other's backs no matter what the circumstances are, and I couldn't be more thankful for my group of friends, especially in a time like this. 

    Spending time and making endless memories with such a great group of friends is something I'll be grateful for my entire life. Whether it's spending all of our birthdays together or getting together for a secret Santa we have the best time and have endless laughs every time. We spend countless days down the shore together, tanning on the beach blasting music. We can go from laying around in sweats and sweatshirts eating Dominos, to dressing up and going out to a fancy dinner somewhere. We can do absolutely anything together and have the best time possible. Having this type of friendship is one of the most important things in life to have for me, and I will never take the friendship we have for granted. I can't wait to continue to make these memories with my best friends.
