Everything is important to me. Every single thing in this universe. Every dog I've ever stopped to pet on the sidewalk, every puddle I've every run to to jump in, every star I've ever stared at in awe, it's all important to me, it all matters. Even the people I haven't met, the dogs I haven't pet, the puddles I haven't jumped in and the stars I've never seen and maybe never will, they are all important to me. I'm not saying that the newspaper that was put in my mailbox this morning is as important to me as my mom or that the gum stuck under my desk means nearly as much to me as my dad. But everything is important to me because everything was, is or will be important to someone somewhere at some point. I glanced at the newspaper briefly and didn't think much of it, but the girl who finally got her story on the front page must be so proud of that newspaper. The mailman who can feed his family because he's putting mail in mailboxes, was happy to put that newspaper in my mail box this morning. That gum under the desk was an unpleasant surprise for me, but it helped the guy in second period stay focused enough to get through his test. Everything is important to me because everything tells everyone's stories, everything matters.
I like your viewpoint on this. Imagine how people would feel if they thought everything mattered!
ReplyDeleteThis was really creative and I really like how you explained that even if something like a newspaper wasn't important for you, it could've been really great for whoever wrote the front page just a great detail.
