My Heroes- By Charlie Sandgran

In English class this year we learned about who and what heroes are. A hero by definition is a person who is admired or idolized for courage, outstanding achievements or notable qualities. As people we are always looking up to someone or trying to be like someone who inspires us.

My heroes range from sports players to my parents (my parents being at the top of the list of course). My favorite sport is baseball and the Yankees are my favorite team. Currently my favorite player on the Yankees is DJ Lemahieu because of how he really glues the team together with his high batting average. I look up to him because of his work ethic and style of play. More heroes of mine are healthcare workers. Sadly I feel like I overlooked what they did until this pandemic happened. I really appreciate what they do for others and how they put others in front of themselves. I really want to work on doing that this upcoming year. Finally my biggest heroes are my parents. Ever since I was a little kid I have looked up to them and have tried to become like them. They are always there for me no matter what happens and they make me want to do that for my friends and family.

Everyone has their own heroes and that is what makes them so amazing. These are mine and each and every one of mine has inspired me to become like them in one way or another.
