They say it's about the journey, not the destination,

but we can't wait to get there anyway.

Others say hope is for fools,

but then why are we still here today?

Twenty-five years and waiting,

without much reason to stay.

Faces have come and gone,

but the truest will never stray.

Every year we inanely believe,

that this year will end the pain.

Even though it always ends the same,

listening to "November Rain."

This was the first year I didn't cry,

for I had no reason to believe.

Unlike many years gone by,

success would not be ours to receive.

They say it's about the journey, not the destination,

so we'll wait a while longer for that fated day.

But as time goes on we also learn,

it's about the friends we made along the way.
