The Virus That Took The World By Storm- Arianna Puleo

COVID-19: The virus that came out of nowhere and affected the entire world. A lot of Americans heard about this virus long before it reached the United States, and some thought nothing of it. Some assumed the news was exaggerating, and that it would end before anything came of it. But that was not the case. Flash forward to the end of 2020, and the virus has become a fact of life, and death. In the U.S. alone, millions have contracted COVID-19, and over 200,000 have died from it. We have to wear masks; limit the capacity indoors, and learn through a computer screen at home. Our whole way of life is changing. But there is hope for normality in the future. While we may have to wear masks for years to come, eventually there will be a vaccine, and we will go back to school and have fans at our sports games, and create a new normal.

Personally, I have not contracted COVID-19 or had it in my family, but unfortunately, friends of mine can't say the same. Some have had mild symptoms, others have lost family members. Either way, I feel remorse for them, their families, and others who have experienced the toll this virus can take.

COVID-19 really did take the world by storm; a storm that will take a long time to dissipate. But hopefully, we soon can return to normal.
